DRAKE "THE BANCHO"
Full Name: Drake D. Chou
Nicknames or Titles: "The Bancho"
Affiliation: Pirate
Bounty: 0
Major Achievements:
- Successfully dodged a shooting star.
- Earned the title of 100th Degree Bancho King by breaking it open.
- Ate the Devil Fruit he found inside, gaining the power of lightning him but destroying his Perfect Regent hairstyle in the process, making him the laughingstock of his former gang.
- Left to the sea to reclaim his Honorable Infamy as a pirate by becoming the Pirate King.
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Height: 6'4"
Build: Tall and slim.
Appearance: Drake is most well known for his headband and hair. What was once a Perfect Regent has now become a spiky blond mess that naturally stands up and spikes backwards, due to his electrical power. His hair falls flat when he is exhausted or out of energy from overusing lightning attacks. The front of his hair has fairly pronounced bangs, which he keeps out of his eyes with a large red sash headband that covers his entire forehead.
Besides that, he stands fairly tall and has an athletic build, but not a very full one. He's relatively slim and lean, but goes out of his way to keep in shape - which isn't hard because he mostly only eats fruit and meat nowadays. He has bright blue eyes and a seemingly perpetual cocky smirk.
Drake most commonly wears more of the red sashes all over his body, as footwraps, armwraps, and around his belly as a sort of haramaki design. He also seems allergic to shirts, and rarely wears them to show off his manly chest - even though he really isn't super buff. He prefers nice pants, however, but opts for the large baggy ones worn by typical Japanese delinquents, preferring black and white. He wears one of his sashes as a belt, because the pants would fall off otherwise. He also tends to not wear shoes, but frequently keeps a pair of sandals tied on the back of his belt.
Face Claim: N/A
Voice Claim:
Personality: MANLY. Drake acts the part of a snarky, sarcastic, macho delinquent, somehow managing to fit every Japanese Punk stereotype as much he does all of the American Greaser stereotypes. He likes quality swords, stylish ships, and badass hair. However, beneath all of the smug confidence and disrespect of authority is a profound sense of honor and loyalty to those he trusts, and those he calls a part of his gang.
Being born and raised in Nippon Country, a land settled by travelers from the Wano Country in the distant New World, Drake was raised with a sword in his hand and Honor and Tradition in his heart... but like most youths of the Nippon Country, he would much rather earn his fame and glory than live a humble life. He is a truly good person and is happy to follow the spirit of the traditions he was raised with, but he is stubborn to a fault and generally thinks he has the best idea. Of course, that stubbornness also manifests as incredible determination when he sets his mind on something.
Quirk: Despite his epithet of "The Bancho" and his constant manly badass attitude, Drake has a huge closet love of fashion design and pretty much anything cute and fuzzy, especially puppies and similar baby animals. The love of fashion comes from years of making uniforms and stuff for his gang, but the love of cute things is all him. He gets easily distracted if cute things are around.
Beyond that, he also gets almost comically violent if people talk bad about his hair or go out of their way to attack it, as his powers ruined the Perfect Regent he was once known for. If his headband ever gets destroyed, he has a hard time seeing through his unruly hair until he puts a new one on.

Skills & Abilities:
- Will of D. (1) - This grants the character the right to a D. as their middle initial, and all of the benefits and drawbacks that accompany it. Those born with the will of D. have an innate dislike of authority and tend to view the world in an idealistic fashion. Their lust for life and pure, honest outlook tends to attract allies to their cause, and they in turn are drawn to those with strong hopes and dreams. Due to their strong wills, they also treat all enemy Haki techniques as one level lower when they interact with them.
Devil Fruit:
Goro Goro no Mi - Rumble Rumble Fruit (5)
Type: Logia
Abilities: The Rumble Rumble fruit has turned Drake into a Lightning Man, giving him the ability to become living electricity. He can turn parts of, or his whole body, into electricity to avoid damage from any attack not made by an insulated material such as wood or rubber, rendering him basically immune to bullets, swords, and unarmed attacks. It also lets him use his own body's electricity as a weapon, though this tires him relative to the amount of energy used. Foods and drinks high in electrolytes replenish his energy and help him heal.
Counter: Rubber and other completely non-conductive materials such as dry wood.

Rumble Rumble Mode (2)
Type: Logia Form
Duration: Toggle
Effect: Drake's living lightning form at this level looks exactly like his normal human body, and he is limited in mobility to what he physically can do. His body will allow incoming attacks from conductive materials to harmlessly pass through him, revealing him to be made of lightning inside, but he cannot split his body normally. He can channel his own body's electricity through conductive surfaces or project it in the form of lightning attacks, but as he is literally using his own body's power, this tires him.

Techniques:
Switchblade (1)
Type: Offensive (Supernatural Buff)
Duration: 2
Effect: (His "sword" deals cutting damage, Strength +1) Drake runs his hand along the front of his golden sword and uses electrical heat to temporarily forge it into a sharpened edge. For a short time, his sword gains a cutting edge and its added aerodynamics let him effectively have +1 Strength for purposes of sword attacks.
Greased Lightning (1)
Type: Offensive
Duration: Attack
Effect: (L1 Physical* / Electrical damage) Drake performs a relatively traditional Kendo-style slash while his gold sword is charged with electricity. This attack can also be done with any normal metal sword instead.
And so on...

Weapons & Equipment:
- Ryō Wazamono - A pun on the names used to categorize grades of Meito, Drake's weapon of choice is a 6-foot "bokken" style sword, but made of solid gold instead of wood. The pun translates to "a sharp sword made of Ryō", the gold currency used in the Wano kingdom due to their refusal of the rest of the world's currency. While gold is a fairly weak metal, the sheer density of this weapon's construction (thanks to Drake's lightning powers) makes it strong enough to hold up as a bludgeoning weapon. He has wrapped the handle in one of his many red sashes for a grip.
- A bunch of red sashes - Drake is a hobbyist seamstress from years of making cool headbands and coats and stuff for his gang, and has made a ton of fairly plain fabric sashes of varying lengths. He wears them in varying ways, and many of them have kanji embroidered into them... usually notable MANLY THINGS like "power" or "badass" and so on. He has enough that if any of them get destroyed, he's got a spare.

Hometown: Nippon Country, West Blue
Character History: To the outside world, the war between the Kano and Nippon countries in the West Blue are pretty much all that the two countries are known for. Locked in a naval war for what seems like generations over control of the island between them, the Sea Gate, nobody even really knows what started it in the first place. The islanders of the Sea Gate surely don't know - hell, most of them don't even know it's their island that's being fought over, as neither island actually tries to board the strange sea-spiral into the clouds, they just shoot at each other's ships all day long.
As a result, the youths of Nippon, knowing that one day they will be called to war like their parents, spend their childhood getting into every possible fight they can. Combat is in their blood, of course, as descendants of the people of the Wano Kingdom. However, the culture of the Nippon Country advanced due to the more peaceful nature of the Blue Seas, favoring art and wealth over humble tradition and combat.
And thus from what was the culture of Bushido, came the culture of Bancho. It is a title to be sought after by all young warriors of Nippon, a title that proclaims them to be the most manly, stylish badass on the island. A title earned through trash-talk battles, impressive clothes, and perfect Regent hairstyles moreso than the occasional brawls. Schools, dojos, and gangs all across the land would vie for the title with all the same hot-blooded fury that pirates had sought for the title of Pirate King. But one man stood above all others, at least as far as he boasted - Drake D. Chou, known across the island as the man with the most Perfect Regent.
Setting his sights high by age five, he had spent his entire childhood grooming a natural blonde regent hairstyle, and mastering the art of the Bokken, the wooden swords being the only weapon youths on the island were allowed to own. By 16 he had gained a gang of his own, and had systematically conquered every other prospective Bancho on the island in battle, and united his generation under one perfect hairstyle. It was a glorious day for Nippon Kingdom, and while every parent cursed at the though that their children had put so much effort into this pointless bravado, they would at least be assured that they were prepared for war.
Until one day, when a shooting star came down through the night sky where Drake and his gang were partying, shortly after the unification of the hundred Bancho gangs. But not just any shooting star, this one was a meteorite from space, and where other lesser men ran, Drake stood his ground as a Bancho should... and when the meteorite landed next to him, he was sent flying. Once they all got back to see it, they found it glowed golden from within... but nobody could break the rock, not with any of their wooden swords. Even Drake himself broke his bokken in his attempt to break it open.
And so, throwing tradition to the wind, Drake stole his father's sword and shocked all his gang by being bold beyond what any Bancho ever had done before! And with a powerful Kendo slash (followed by about ten more...), Drake chopped into the meteorite, which split like a walnut... and horribly damaged the sword in the process. Inside, however, the meteorite was filled with solid gold, and... a fruit, a strange yellow apple with swirls all over it. Drake grabbed the fruit, and proclaimed himself the 100th Degree Bancho King, before taking a giant bite of the fruit.
And then practically heaving with how awful it tasted. No sooner had he finished coughing, did all of his gang look on in horror. He had begun sparking a bit, but his Perfect Regent began to spike this way and that, refusing years of perfect care as the Devil Fruit turned him into a Lightning Man. Within an hour his Regent was gone forever, now a spiky mess that refused combs and chemicals alike, and his Bancho status plummeted. Moreso, he had shamed his father by damaging his sword... and even with the fact that he could turn into living lightning, the majority of people he fought used wooden swords, rendering it nearly a moot point.
Disgraced in the eyes of the united gangs, he ceased to be the 100th Degree Bancho King and became just another weird punk with no respect for authority. The gangs went their separate ways and returned to the daily life of brawls and trash-talk, and Drake realized there was nothing ahead for him but a life of pointless war over a place he'd never even seen. And that wasn't something any Bancho could simply accept.
Instead, he decided to forge his own destiny. Not just king of the deliniquents of his own island, he would become the King of them all - the Pirate King! But first, he needed to forge a sword - a sword fitting a King. He took all the gold from the meteorite (it was his, fair and square, after all) and using the heat of his lightning powers, turned the hundred pounds of gold into a single oversized Bokken, and named it Ryō Wazamono as a boast. He needed a boat next, and stealing from the Nippon Navy was impossible, even for him... However, he found that for some reason, the meteorite could float in water. With no ability to swim and betting his safety to fate and chance, he grabbed an oar and sailed out to the seas in a floating rock.
