Alabasta

A large desert island and one of the Kingdoms of the World Nobility. Despite the actions of the Straw Hat Pirates, their alliance with the Nefertari noble family was never revealed and they rebuilt as normal following the events of the Baroque Works takeover.

However, five years ago the island was struck with a wasting illness that claimed the lives of much of the royal family, and nearly half the population of the island. The Marines quarantined the island and used this as leverage to force the Isshi-100 of Drum Island to join the Marines, and while the plan worked it was too late to save most affected.

The island is now "ruled" by Nefertari Vivi's twin children, and Remses, but their rule is in name only. While the five year old twins technically have control, the CP-6 division placed there effectively guides the child rulers' decisions.
