Welcome to the handy item creation handbook for SotGA. Here we will show you the simple way you can create any weapon, armor, or other miscellaneous item you'll need for your character.
Our item system, like most everything else in SotGA, runs on a Level 1-5 system. Each aspect of the item is a category with Levels ranging 1-5. Besides a simple description of the item, all we need from you is the levels - we add them up to determine the price.
Upgrading items is fairly simple as well - just stat the new item, we will give you the new price, and all you do is pay the difference.
Up first, stabby killy fun fun.
Er... weapons.
Item Techniques and Cyborg weapons are also made using this setup. Item Techniques, such as special ammunition or explosives or systems used for Cyborg techniques, must be purchased ONE TIME with Beli to represent the base cost of materials. After that, you don't need to pay for them again, you can make as many as the technique allows.
WEAPONS!
Category 1: Type
Weapon type isn't so much size and damage type, but quality, complexity, and how likely a weapon is to be found versus needing to be custom-made.
Category 2: Size
Size matters! Bigger weapons cost more, simple fact.
Category 3: Material
Finally, what the weapon is made of. If a weapon is made of multiple materials, only count the highest Level one for this category.
Use the following template in your weapon request thread:
Also, as a side note - AMMUNITION!
Standard ammunition is included in with all crafted firearms at no cost (this is One Piece - you never run out of ammo unless it is for dramatic purposes). Special ammunition must always be in the form of Techniques, as mentioned above.
ARMOR!
Armor doesn't get used much in One Piece - armor on the high seas tends to be more of a water hazard than it is worth the protection. However, those who use it effectively have time and again been impressive threats.
Armor is made using a similar setup, but with only two categories. And, the Material category is identical to what is used for weapons. Like with Weapons, Level 4 and 5 materials are restricted to the Grand Line.
Cyborg internal armor is also handled this way, but additionally, Basic Cyborgs are limited to Level 1 and 2 Materials for their body armor, and only up to Level 2 (2 parts) armored or augmented by upgrades. Advanced Cyborgs can use whatever they can afford, and can armor and augment up to 80% of their body. Cyborg body parts must be "armored" before they can have any form of weaponry installed in that part.
Category 1: Coverage
Coverage doesn't have levels, but it does go from ranks 1-5. Each rank represents one body part covered:
- Head
- Torso (Front)
- Torso (Back)
- Arms
- Legs
A Level 1 covers 1 part, a Level 2 covers 2 parts, and so on.
Category 1: Material
And here's your template for armor:
A Note On Shields: Shields count as either Weapons or Armor depending on whether or not you want to fight with them. A shield made as ARMOR cannot be used for offensive techniques. A shield made as a WEAPON can be used for both offensive or defensive techniques.
Miscellaneous Items
These don't have a template, and are largely price on a case-by-case basis. This includes first aid kits, Transponder Snails, and other items that aren't much use in combat, but may be of use for Roleplay purposes. Just make a thread and describe the item in 2-3 sentences and we will do our best to price it for you.

WEAPONS!
Category 1: Type
Weapon type isn't so much size and damage type, but quality, complexity, and how likely a weapon is to be found versus needing to be custom-made.
- Level 1 - Junk. Improvised items not really intended to be actual weapons, or weapons made by people who don't really have any skill making them. Lead pipes, homemade spears, scrap shivs, wooden swords and clubs, planks with nails in them - that sort of thing.
- Level 2 - Mass-produced. Marine katana and rifles, standard pirate flintlocks and cutlasses, and so on. The sorts of weapons that you see in every episode of the series, wielded by anyone and anywhere in large numbers.
- Level 3 - Handmade. This category is for exotic weapons such as nunchaku, scythes, weirdly shaped or sized swords, or more advanced but still relatively normal firearms - such as revolvers and bolt-action rifles. The types of weapons not normally found on store shelves, which are usually made specifically for a person.
- Level 4 - Advanced. This category is for technologically advanced weapons such as automatic firearms, as well as the lowest class of Meito.
- Level 5 - Legendary. This category is for the two highest categories of Meito, and other one-of-a-kind weapons of legendary status.

Category 2: Size
Size matters! Bigger weapons cost more, simple fact.
- Level 1 - Small. Daggers, pistols, and other similar one-handed weapons.
- Level 2 - Average. Swords, clubs, rifles, and most standard weapons on the high seas.
- Level 3 - Large. Oversized swords, giant hammers, and other weapons that are very large, but still actually usable by normal people. One-handed weapons for Giants fit here.
- Level 4 - Overcompensating. Anchors, cannons, boats, and other giant items never intended to be wielded by people, ever. Most ship-based weaponry such as cannons fall into this category, as do two-handed weapons wielded by Giants.
- Level 5 - Mounted. Weapons in this category are meant to be mounted on a ship or building and crewed by multiple people. Under no circumstance can they be wielded by a single person in any manner other than as a falling object.

Category 3: Material
Finally, what the weapon is made of. If a weapon is made of multiple materials, only count the highest Level one for this category.
- Level 1 - Common. A Level 1 weapon is made of cast iron, copper, bronze, wood, or any other material below the quality and strength of steel.
- Level 2 - Steel. Level 2 weapons are made of Steel, or other materials roughly equivalent to Steel due to dense construction or whatever makes sense, without having any special abilities.
- Level 3 - Rare. Rare materials include any material that has special qualities such as exceptional durability, exceptionally light weight, or the ability to naturally conduct cold and heat.
- Level 4 - Unique. Unique materials are virtually identical to Rare materials, with one major exception - Rare materials only have static passive abilities due to their construction, while Unique materials have special ACTIVE abilities that can rival some item techniques, which can be used at will. Dials from the Sky Islands are a good example.
- Level 5 - Mad Science - This category is exclusively for weapons that have "eaten" Zoan Devil Fruits to gain life and relative intelligence. These items additionally cost 1 Profession Point from the purchaser, to represent the Devil Fruit's cost, and can only be fed normal Zoan fruits (not Mythical or Ancient).

Again, Dials are the general standard for this level.
- Level 5 - Mad Science - This level is for armor that has its own special abilities - basically, this means powered armor or entire mechanical bodies or body parts. A full suit of Level 5 armor would be equivalent to a Mecha of the same sort as the Franky Shogun or similar devices.
